The Beginning

Yuki walked through the trees leading to the bright building that she was soon to be living in. She could see it now, a very large school building surrounded by clear grassy fields. All of the students rooms were inside a special half of the building, and some students had to share rooms, she had read in the brochure for the school that had been sent to her in the mail. She wondered if she would have a roommate, and if so, what kind of powers would they have?

Erik closed his eyes concentrating, on his first three times he created slush. on His fourth time he created a ball of ice. "Sweet!" Erik jumped for joy throwing the ball of ice into the air only for it to fall on his face.

Yuki laughed. "You learn fast."

Erik came up with a idea, he threw yuki the ice ball and immediately went into concentrating. He created a sword made out of ice, inside the ice sword was a dark element. "You can mix Elements together." Erik said holding the sword.

Yuki's eyes widened. "I've never been able to do that!" she laughed. "It's looks like you'll have to teach me some stuff too."

"Just think of both elements and it should be easy." Erik said looking at the sword. Mice stood up and looked at Erik with admiration.

"Umm," Yuki smiled. "I'm going to try..." She stood and focused and eventually ended up with a dark ice sword.

"Nice." Erik said. Out of nowhere he was pushed to the by someone behind him.

"Eh- Erik are you okay?"

Erik stood up and looked behind himself to see Yui. "I'm fine..and why'd you do that!" Erik said brushing dirt off him.

"Oh, Yui? What are you doing out here?" Yuki asked her, confused.

"Watching you two." Yui replied calmly. Mice walked over. "Erik has quite a talent, does he not?" Mice asked both Yuki and Yui.

"Yeah, in just a few days he's gotten really good!" Yuki smiled.

Yui stayed silent, looking at Yuki. "Thanks." Erik replied to both Yuki and Mice.

Yuki noticed Yui's staring at her. "Umm, I hope you don't mind me asking, but why were you watching us?"

"To make sure you wouldn't do anything that would harm Erik." Yui replied.

"..." Yuki stayed silent, remembering that Yui didn't trust her. 'I wouldn't hurt Erik...' she thought to herself.

Mice sat down next to yuki. "Yuki won't hurt Erik. I trust her." Mice said calmly.

Yuki smiled. Well, at least Mice trusted her. "There isn't a need to worry, Yui."

"Of all people, I thought you'd side with me Mice." Yui said calmly, turning around and leaving.

Yuki stepped back, feeling slightly bad for Yui. "Umm,"

Erik yawned and stood up. "Well, I'm going back to the campus, see you both later." Erik said walking away. When Erik was out of earshot, Mice began. "Do not feel bad for Yui. Your kind and our kind are similar, but do not know that. she is protective of Erik as he is the prince and soon to be king of our kind." Mice told Yuki.

"P-Prince?" Yuki stuttered. "Erik is a prince?"

"Yes, He is." Mice replied. "He does not know though." Mice added.

"Ah, I see. I won't ask him anything, then. I hope you don't mind me asking, but what is the king's duty for your species?"

"The king has no powers, he had lost them in a fight against one of your kind. But he helps among wars, otherwise nothing, he had left our kind a long time ago." Mice replied. "It is late, and creatures lurk the forest, you should go." Mice added.
