The Beginning

Yuki walked through the trees leading to the bright building that she was soon to be living in. She could see it now, a very large school building surrounded by clear grassy fields. All of the students rooms were inside a special half of the building, and some students had to share rooms, she had read in the brochure for the school that had been sent to her in the mail. She wondered if she would have a roommate, and if so, what kind of powers would they have?

"You're right... well, I'll see you later, Mice." Yuki smiled. "Oh, and if you ever need anything just ask. I'd be glad to help."

Mice did not reply, walking into the darkness.

Yuki returned to the place where her and Erik stayed and grabbed one of her snacks out of the fridge.

"Hey." Yui said sitting on yuki's bed.

Yuki jumped as she turned around. "Eh, Yui? What are you doing here?"

"Mice is an idiot, trusting a yuki..and telling them the whereabouts of a prince! Well I won't, and I'll keep an eye on you. if anything happens to Erik, I'll kill you." Yui said getting up and walking out of the room.

Yuki froze as the door shut behind her. "For the last time... "

Erik walked in. "Hey. I just saw Yui leave the room, something happen?"

Shocked, Yuki turned around. "Oh, no. She was just getting something." Yuki smiled fakely. "Don't you start classes tomorrow, Erik?"

"Nope. I keep asking and they still say no." Erik said boredly. "It's annoying."

"Well, that sucks." Yuki frowned. "What do you do all day?"

"Walk around the forest, there's some cool stuff in the forest." Erik replied.

"Ah," Yuki smiled. "I'll have to check it out sometime."

Erik slumped onto his bed, yawning. "Oh, I forgot. Check it out. "Erik instantly created a ice sword, but inside it was a blue fire. "You can only feel the heat of the flame when you touch the sword, and you constantly need to concentrate, to make sure the ice does not melt, but it's quite deadly, I tried it on a tree and it blew the tree up." Erik said.

"That's amazing." Yuki grinned. "I wish I could do something like that."

"I've been meaning to ask you, why is fire life threatening to you?" Erik asked.

"Umm," Yuki thought. "A Yuki-onna's body is built differently than other creature's such as humans, witches, demons, etc. Our body tempurature is colder than other species and needs to stay that way, or we'll either burn or melt. Which is why we need to stay at a cool tempurature and can't be in the sun for very long. Fire is extremely hot and even burns more human-like species. If a Yuki-onne touches it for very long there is an extremely high possibility we will burst into flames or melt."

"Wow." Erik said. Yui, who was listening, quietly walked away.

"Yeah," Yuki sighed. "It sucks, but that's why Yuki-onna are extremely talented in water and ice magic."

"True." Erik replied. Mice jumped in through the window. He was soaking wet and shivering. "It started to rain...and I fell in water." He said.

Yuki held in laughter. "You fell in?"

"Yes. Do you have any fish?" Mice asked.

"Tons." Yuki laughed. "What would you like?"

"Salmon if you have any." Mice said.

"Alright..." Yuki walked over to the fridge and took a chunk of salmon out oh one of her containers. "Would you like anything, Erik?"
