Chapter 1: And down we go.

I sat in the cafeteria, sitting next to the windows. Watching as a war waged below, on earth. Three other soldiers sat at the table simply eating. "So Grey." one began, speaking to me with a grin. "You about ready to get on down there and start busting some Viser heads?" He asked. Visers were a alien race that had came and began to attack us. "Ready as I'll ever be Disk.." I replied not taking my eyes off the planet. "Well guess what? Elites, ELITES, are coming over and fighting alongside us. Visers had destroyed their planet apparently." Disk said his grin never disappearing. Disk was second in command to our team, and the jokester. "So if that's true Disk, just how many more Visers are coming?" another asked. He had a skull painted onto his left breastplate. "Dunno, But it'll definitely be interesting, dont'cha agree Mike?" Disk replied. Mike simply grunted. Mike was a higher ranked ODST then I, but he was not captain or second in command. "So, Captain, When we going down?" I asked. "Soon. We're waiting for Alpha to arrive." the fourth replied. "Alpha? Whatta mean Alpha, Lisa?" Disk asked. "Alpha-909, He's bring a recruit over." Lisa replied, She was the captain of our squad, and is the strongest of us. She shares my hardships, she had lost all her family and her adopted daughter is supposedly dead. "So when is Alpha-909 getting here?" Mike asked. "I'm not sure." Lisa replied staring out the window and taking a bite out of her bread.

Aeri looked at her, slightly frusterated. "What does that make me, then? A clone? A robot?"

"I'm not totally sure." Lisa shrugged. "But I do know your my daughter." Lisa said.

"That's... " Aeri thought for a moment. "We should get back to looking for the bomb. Would you tell me more about Grey and the others?"

The two started to walk. "Disk and Mike were like brothers, they grew up in the same squad up until they switched over to my squad. Grey has always been relatively quiet, he and I are similar, we both lost are family when the Viser first attacked." Lisa said when a Viser attacked them from behind.

Aeri immediately turned around and shot the visor, then turning to look back at Lisa.

"The more I look at Grey, the more I'm proud of him, he never seems to give up or abandon anyone, He'll make a great captain if he survives long enough." Lisa said

Grey and Disk walked down the stairs, listening to a faint ticking noise. "We're close to the bomb!" Disk said.

"He will." Aeri smiled. "I hope I'll get to know him more."

Lisa looked down to a bleeping communicator. "Yes Disk?" Lisa asked. "We found the bomb! Get over here ASAP!" Disk yelled. "We have a slight viser problem.." Disk added. "SHIT! WATCH OUT!" Disk yelled before the communication ended.

Aeri looked up at Lisa without saying a word. "Let's go. Grey is hurt, I don't want him getting killed." she then ran off in their direction.

Grey was thrown through a wall landing on his hurt arm he screamed in agony. "Bastards!" Disk yelled stabbing a viser in a head and shooting another in the head. "Take that!" Disk laughed.

Lisa and Aeri soon arrived. Aeri, with her gun already in hand began to shoot at the nearest viser.

"About time!" Disk said, getting pushed to the floor by a viser which he quickly threw off. "Grey is hurt in the other room, he has the bomb. Get him out of here!" Disk said crushing a viser with his foot.

"Got it." Aeri nodded and immediately rushed to Grey. "Come on..."

Grey slowly got to his feet, he followed Lisa and Aeri out. "So where do we put this bomb? how do we defuse it?" he asked.

"Defuse it? That's simple! Do you have a knife?" Aeri smiled at Grey and held out her hand for the bomb.

Grey handed Aeri the bomb, then the knife he had. "Visers are coming." He said looking back at the building. Out of nowhere visers dropped down and attacked. "You concentrate on the bomb! We have the visers." Lisa said throwing a knife at one, stabbing it inbetween it's eyes.

"Alright, I won't be long." Aeri smiled. She broke off the back of the bomb and began to fiddle with the wires. "Hmm, let's see... Oh! Definately NOT that one... Ah!" The bomb stopped ticking and deactivated. Aeri then set the bomb down and pulled out her guns.

Just as the bomb was deactivated, The viser's roared. one turned at Lisa and stabbed her in the back. "Lisa!" Grey yelled running over and killing the viser.

Aeri shot the last two remaining and rushed to Lisa's side. "A... Are you okay, Lisa?"

Grey pulled the sword out of Lisa's back. "It pierced her heart. She's dead." Grey said staring at her.

Aeri could only stare down at her "mother". "That's..." Aeri stood up. "She was... closest thing I had to finding out who exactly I was..."

Grey didn't reply. He stood up picking the dead body up. "Let's go find Disk." Grey said.

Aeri looked at Grey and nodded. "Yeah." At least Grey was still okay.

Grey and Aeri walked back. as they entered the building, Disk jumped out at them. "WHERE'S THE BOMB!?" he yelled.

"Over there... I deactivated it." Aeri calmly replied. She pointed in the direction of where she set the bomb.
